Greetings from The Impact of Brass (Brass & Percussion) and The Madison Brass quintet! We are one of the Midwest’s finest and most versatile musical groups. Founded in 1981 by its director, Sandy La Clair, we have attained a distinguished reputation for excellent musicianship, innovative programming and sensitivity to the needs of our audiences. Our musicians are distinctive graduates of major universities and their rich and varied backgrounds provide depth, color and style to our many musical activities. We narrate our programs in a friendly and informative and sometimes humorous fashion which draws our audiences into our programs.
We feature custom tailored concerts created from our extensive library of music from around the World. Our specialty is “American Music” from the Civil War and on to the 20th Century featuring Dixieland, Ragtime, Blues, Marches, Big Band Swing as well as Broadway, Hollywood & TV Selections plus Pops and Contemporary Jazz. We perform only custom arrangements by Paul Chauvin and other top professional arrangers.
